Run the Race
Run the Race was originally written as daily readings for the 2012 Games. Now revised and published as a book, Run the Race aims to inspire and encourage the reader to look to Jesus who has already accomplished the race.
About the author
There is a race set before us. The Bible urges us to run it with endurance; therefore we can assume that the race will not necessarily be easy. However for those that look to Jesus Christ, the race is changed forever. It is the presence of Jesus in the race that means that we don’t have to run in our own strength. And it is what He endured on the Cross and accomplished through His death and resurrection that provides us with a hope not only in this life but for eternity.
This book of short messages on a theme of sport and athletics encourages us to look to Jesus who has already completed the race and wants to lead us to fulfil every potential He has for our lives. Each chapter regularly uncovers the links between the many athletic verses in the New Testament and Greek culture of the day and explores other key Scriptures that remind us we are not in this race alone. How is your race going? How will your race leave a lasting legacy for those that follow you? God has a very special plan for your life and wants you to obtain everything that He has promised you, so get ready to run the race!
